If you receive care through UChicago Medicine (UCM) and are currently enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare Group Retiree Medicare Advantage PPO plan offered through CTPF, please watch for an important letter from UChicago Medicine that was mailed this week.
Beginning January 1, 2027, UChicago Medicine providers will no longer accept the UnitedHealthcare Group Retiree Medicare Advantage PPO plan. Members who remain enrolled in that plan may need to transition their care to a provider that accepts the CTPF UnitedHealthcare Group Retiree Medicare Advantage PPO plan or enroll in a different CTPF Medicare Plan.
If you wish to continue seeing your UChicago Medicine providers, carefully review your health insurance options during CTPF Open Enrollment (October 1-31, 2026).
UChicago Medicine Accepts These Other CTPF Medicare Plans
- Humana Group Medicare HMO
- Cigna Surround Group Supplement Plan (for members who turned age 65 in 2020 or later)
- AARP UnitedHealthcare Medicare Supplement Plan F (for members who turned age 65 before 2020)
Open Enrollment materials and the Health Insurance Handbook are available at ctpf.org.
