Starting October 1, 2025, Medicare will be implementing changes to its telehealth policy, which will affect how and where members can access telehealth services. The changes are summarized below. Each plan has different access and coverage, so it’s important to check with your plan to determine coverage before accessing telehealth services.  

UHC Medicare Advantage PPO, Humana Group Medicare HMO, and Cigna Surround Group Supplement Plans will continue to offer the same telehealth options that they currently provide. CTPF recommends confirming your benefit eligibility directly with your carrier. The AARP Medicare Supplement Plan F is a Medicare supplement plan which covers what Medicare covers (CTPF does not control what is covered under this plan). Telehealth will be available through September 30, 2025. Starting October 1, 2025, a member must be in an office or medical facility located in a rural area (in the U.S.) for most telehealth services.
