Every year, members in the AARP® Medicare Supplement Plan F (UnitedHealthcare) with Express Scripts Medicare® receive letters that can cause some unintended confusion. UnitedHealthcare is required to send these notifications to ensure members are aware when their AARP Medicare Supplement plan premium will be adjusted. The communication of the rate change is mandated by each states’ Department of Insurance.
Note: These letters contain only the member’s AARP Medicare Supplement Plan F premium. The amounts shown on the notification do not include the Express Scripts premium and the 60% CTPF subsidy is also not applied.
Approximately 335 members, in specific states, received these letters recently which reported a rate change that will take effect in June 2022. The updated AARP Medicare Supplement Plan F premiums will be applied to the CTPF health insurance premium that is paid out of your monthly annuity on that date.
