If you're considering retirement in 2021, please plan on joining the Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF) for a retirement webinar. Two more webinars will be offered on March 30, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The webinars provide a one-stop-shop for retirement information, including a general overview of the CTPF and CPS retirement processes. CTPF's Member Services Department will be available at all webinars to answer individual questions.
Registration links for all webinars can be found on the calendar at ctpf.org/calendar.
Register early for a CTPF Retirement Webinar. If you register by March 19th for the March 30th webinars, CTPF will provide you with a pension estimate, if applicable. Estimates will be sent via secure email.
PREPARING FOR RETIREMENT
Here are a few additional steps to take now if you intend to retire in 2021:
1. Download and refer to the retirement checklist in the Application for Service Retirement for a list of all required documents. The application can be accessed online at ctpf.org/retirement-resources.
2. Collect or obtain the required personal identification documents listed on the checklist. Applications missing any documentation will not be accepted.
3. Member Services now offers remote notarization for CTPF documents, in accordance with Illinois law. Members who would like assistance notarizing CTPF documents should call or email Member Services at 312.641.4464 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, and request a videoconference for notarization.
4. Check your most recent Member Statement (or download it from myCTPF) and confirm that your personal information is up-to-date. Address and demographic changes need to be made with your employer. Find more information at ctpf.org/annual-member-statement.
